Information on the current Covid-19 situation

We are pleased that after a short interruption, almost all project activities (except in Southern Sudan) could be resumed as early as mid-May / June. However, mine clearance, explosive ordnance disposal and risk education must comply with strict hygiene rules. In Southern Sudan, preparations are currently underway for an early resumption of risk education.

The Corona Pandemic is also a major challenge for our project countries. Restrictive measures such as curfews, travel limitations, adherence to hygienic measures, home office orders, etc. had been imposed. Mine clearance and risk education activities had to be interrupted almost everywhere. In Cambodia, however, our teams were allowed to continue working without interruption, as the removal of explosive ordnance was classified as systemically relevant.

The rapid resumption of project activities shows how important demining is for the safety of the population and the further development of the countries.
